Larry David’s Fish in the Dark Recoups on Broadway

first_img Show Closed This production ended its run on Aug. 1, 2015 View Comments Audiences have been unable to curb their enthusiasm for Fish in the Dark—the Broadway production has recouped its entire capitalization! Directed by Anna D. Shapiro and written by and starring Seinfeld co-creator Larry David, the comedy began performances on February 2 and officially opened on March 5 at the Cort Theatre.David has described the play as a comedy with around 15 characters that explores a family death. The playwright portrays “somebody very similar to Larry David—it might even be Larry David with a different name.”The cast of 18 also includes Rita Wilson, Rosie Perez, Jayne Houdyshell, Ben Shenkman and Lewis J. Stadlen.The limited engagement was originally scheduled through June 7, but will now play through July 19. From June 9, Tony winner Jason Alexander will succeed David in the production as Norman Drexel. Fish in the Dark Related Showslast_img
