first_imgHector Santiago’s final spring training tuneup went a little better than Kenta Maeda’s.Santiago twirled five shutout innings at Dodger Stadium, leading the Angels to a 5-1 victory over the Dodgers in the second game of the Freeway Series. The Angels can sweep the annual exhibition set when the series shifts to Angel Stadium tonight.Dodgers left-hander Alex Wood is scheduled to oppose Angels right-hander Nick Tropeano in the finale.Santiago allowed three hits, walked none and struck out four. Maeda allowed two runs in four innings, walked none and struck out two.The Angels broke the game open with three runs in the seventh inning, all of which were charged to right-hander Yimi Garcia. Corey Seager’s RBI single off Huston Street in the eighth inning drove in A.J. Ellis with the Dodgers’ only run.Joe Blanton, J.P. Howell, Chris Hatcher, Kenley Jansen and Luis Avilan threw scoreless innings for the Dodgers.Michael Morin, Joe Smith, Cam Bedrosian and Jose Alvarez threw scoreless innings for the Angels. – J.P.
