Police have not released information on the relationship between Ochoa and Dean. LAS VEGAS – The mother of a 4-year-old boy and another woman agreed Thursday to be extradited to California to face charges in the fatal shooting of the child’s uncle in Altadena. Vanessa Ochoa and Misha Rachaz Dean appeared in prison blues through a remote video hookup from the Clark County jail, and each answered a simple “yes” when asked by Justice of the Peace Douglas Smith if they wanted to return to California to face a charge of murder with a deadly weapon in the death of Monroe Miles, 32. Ochoa, 22, and Dean, 22, were taken into custody, along with Ochoa’s son Manaen Miles, on Tuesday in Las Vegas after a two-day, two-state search. The Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department initially described the case as an alleged kidnapping, saying the women shot and killed Monroe Miles, the boy’s paternal uncle, then took the child and fled. Miles, who was caring for the child, was shot in the torso Sunday at a home in Altadena, where he lived with the boy’s grandparents.
